Breganze Torcolato DOC, sweet passito wine, year 2017. 50 cl.
Precious passito wine of ancient tradition produced in the area of Breganze (Veneto).
It is mainly obtained from Vespaiola grapes, whose best bunches, after a careful choice, are made to wither for some months tied to twine and twisted, ie "attorcolato" (hence the name) to the beams. It is also added another grape, the Garganega, in lesser quantity but which gives special properties to the wine. The painstaking care in the selection of bunches and berries takes a long time, but allows to obtain through a slow pressing an elegant and balanced wine.
Colour: from bright gold to amber.
Bouquet: fruity with hints of honey and tropical fruit, apricot and red citrus.
Palate: with freshness of pure fruit, it is full, elegant, delicate and clean. The high phenolic ripeness accentuates the scent of ripe fruit both to the nose and to the palate through a remarkable persistence. Excellent balance between acidity and sugar.
Alcohol content: 13.0% Vol.
Production: about 2-3000 bottles per year.
Pairings: excellent meditation wine, very well paired with dry pastries but also canapés with fois gras and blue and aged cheeses.

Gallio is a producer of Torcolato di Breganze DOC (“controlled denomination of origin”), a straw and dessert wine produced using a traditional method. Gallio’s Torcolato has been the subject of many articles dedicated to enthusiasts and professionists in the sector, no doubt a sign of prestige for a producer.
Moreover, Torcolato traces its origins back to the eleventh century and has filled many pages of history with descriptions of how to obtain a good and genuine wine.
Although Gallio’s production is quite small, the company has received more than one prize in national and internation competitions, such as the Douja D’Or prize in Asti the IWCS 2012 gold medal in London, and the bronze medal at Bruxelles Wine Competition 2013.
